Could this really be what's in store for the long-suffering Wellington bowler? Time will tell.
In comparioson Bowls Taranaki have done a superb job with their recently-developed site.
Bowls NZ has canned the 9 "Pathways" national titles for the 2009–2010 season due to lack of funds. Read the May circular buried on the BNZ site.
Dale Lang is now a member of the NZ Black Jacks Womens' Team. Dale has been selected to represent New Zealand in the Asia Pacific tournament being played in Malaysia during August. Within this 5-person team, Dale is playing 2 in the Triples & 3 in the Fours. The wider NZ squad of 9 also includes Kaaren Guildford from Johnsonville and Clare McCaul from Silverstream.
This must surely be the greatest achievement by any member of our Club in its almost 50 years of existence. Dale is also a current member of the NZ Indoor Bowls team and before Malaysia is next month off to Broken Hill to play an international game against Australia. Very few players have represented NZ in both sports. To do this in the same year is probably a first. We are all very proud of you Dale. The recognition is well deserved.
The World Cup Singles is currently underway at Warilla , Australia. New Zealand's representatives are Jamie Hill, Jo Edwards, Shannon McIlroy and Genevieve Baildon. For the full results see the World Bowls results page.
No Kiwi has won this event in its 4 year history.
There's been a couple of weeks where I've been unable to update the site or upload files such as the weekly Wrong Bias. These problems are now hopefully resolved.
